Come and show everyone what you have worked so hard to achieve and win some amazing prizes for being the best in state!
This year, the Utah Tooling and Machining Association (UTMA) is fully planning the contest on the technical side, so plenty of expertise, help, and exposure to contestants is available.
Judges will come from real local machine shops. As part of the contest, you will have the amazing opportunity to interview at some of the best machine shops in the state. This contest will give you exposure to potential future employers, and in many cases, they make hires while students are still in school.
We will have High School (Secondary) and College divisions (post-secondary), so everyone is welcome to compete.
Technical information about rules, tools, and other important competition information can be found at machineutah.org. You must be registered as a Skills USA member by February 14, 2026.

Volunteer with Us at the 2026 Utah Machinist Contest!
We’re looking for volunteers to help make our 2026 Machinist Contest another huge success! If you’re interested in being part of the team, we would love to have you on board. Your support will be invaluable in ensuring that everything runs smoothly, and it’s a great opportunity to meet new people, connect with schools & industry and have some fun! If you’re interested, please sign up for a volunteer spot at the links below- we strongly encourage you to sign up for the same type of volunteer role for BOTH DAYS- March 6 and March 13. This year we are using sign up genius to help us in coordinating our volunteer roles. Consider taking a spot that you have some experience in. We do need technical industry knowledge.
